May’s Holiday Checklist starts the planning for the Fourth of July. May is a busy month with Father’s Day, Memorial Day, and Graduation planning.

Purchase gifts and cards for June
Start planning July parties

Father’s Day

Review budget.
Finish homemade gifts
Purchase grocery items from the non-perishable list each week

Graduation

Refer to your party plan — complete items needing to be done for each week.
Update your budget for the event.

Fourth of July

Start plans for the Fourth of July.

Make a budget for the event that includes food, decorations, fireworks, camping fees, etc.
-If camping out, make a list of all the equipment you will need to take.
Plan menus.
Organize recipes
– Make a shopping list
– Note non-perishable items
Plan decorations for the day. Mark on the shopping list.
– Are you planning on making some of the decorations? Make a project page in your notebook.
– Mark needed items on the project shopping list

Christmas

Ongoing Christmas newsletter: Make notes of events that occurred in April.
Photo calendar: Plan the May pictures you need to take for your photo calendar. Develop or upload April photos.
Buy 1/10 of budgeted Christmas gifts or place money in savings.
Update the Gift Chest list with new items you have purchased.
Home-made gifts: Refer to the calendar for Christmas projects you should be working on now.
Christmas budget: up-date budget

Plan Christmas activities and traditions

Look through the articles on Christmas traditions for ideas, or make a list of your own traditions. Write your ideas on the Family Activities page. Mark start dates on your calendar.

Make a shopping list of items you will need. If making your own items, make a project page.
